Bachelor Thesis: Siddeley Special Six

High-Fidelity Modeling of a Classic Automobile

This project presents the digital reconstruction of the Siddeley Special Six, a rare vintage car from Armstrong Siddeley Motors. It demonstrates the use of advanced 3D hardsurface modelling techniques to recreate a classic automobile. The visualisation process highlights the detailed craftsmanship behind this iconic vehicle.

Software and Methods Overview

Reference material, including photos and videos taken by myself, was used for initial sketches and measurements. Primary modeling was done in 3ds Max. ZBrush and Marvelous Designer were used for the fabric parts. Most of the texturing was done in Substance Painter. I also worked extensively with procedural dirt shader methods to work efficiently. V-Ray was used for rendering. Additional retouching and multi-layer EXR compositing were done in DaVinci Resolve
